Apartment in Mekah; Ada Org Tu Buat Duit Atas Angin..

this is probably the apartment thay are talking about.
"The above actions are certainly puzzling. Why did PNSB pay more than RM25 million when the board only approved about RM8 million for five units?

"Why did it then accept about RM17 million – said to be for the sale of the seven units? Why did it then attempt to re-purchase the units it had sold off?"

The above are statement by Menteri Besar Selangor Khalid Ibrahim. Poor Khalid, he is puzzled and had no clue what is happening.

Let me put forward a theory, dont blame me if this is wrong, this theory is based on normal assumptions, of what normal greedy Muslim (I assume he/she is Muslim, because the said property is in Mecca) would do to make money. Never mind its unethical bla bla.

It probably work like this:
Someone with contacts and friendship with the Saudi developer, probably the BinLadin Group (forgive me if I were wrong)got offered apartments in Mecca, guaranteed and dont have to queue or go through ballot box (wouldnt that normal for hot properties?).
Incidentally he/she doesnt have money, well not enough anyway, so he passed on the offer to PNSB. After deliberation, the Bards (sic, should be Board) of Directors approve for 5 units, costing RM2mil each. But this fellow is very high up in the PNSB, so he ordered the Finance Director to write cheque for RM25millions, enough for 12 apartments.
So he used this money to buy 12 apartments, and given that the property market was hot at the time, the price of the apartments immediately increased in value within days. So after paying for 12 units, soon as he got the title, he sold it again, ie the 7 units and make profit. It was not unusual that price of properties in Middle East increase 5% or even 20% of the original offered price within days. Look at Dubai property market that time. So this person made profit on PNSB's money. Thats why in a short time he managed to pay back PNSB RM17million.
It would be especially useful if that the apartment is in your name, so you can buy and sell as you wish.
Didnt the Bard of Directors asked to buy back the apartment that was resold? Yes, and what did he said?
"Kalau dah jual tu tak elok minta beli balik.."

Discrepencies in PNSB's purchase of Saudi apartments

SHAH ALAM (Feb 24, 2009) : The Mentri Besar Incorporated (MBI), a state government subsidiary, said today there were discrepancies in Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad's (PNSB) purchase of properties of Al Marwa Tower Makkah, Saudi Arabia in 2007.

The Mentri Besar's Office said in a statement today the discrepancies were detected by external auditors and brought to the attention of MBI's current board of directors which has appointed advisers to evaluate expenses of the state government's subsidiaries.

The discrepancies were uncovered amid concerns by MBI over PNSB's delay in finalising the 2007 financial accounts.

The statement said, according to the PNSB Directors Circular Resolution dated Sept 14, 2007, PNSB had approved the purchase of five units of properties amounting to RM8,352,427.66.

However, records showed that PNSB had between Sept 17 and Sept 19, 2007 transferred RM25,603,545 to Saudi Arabia for 12 units of properties.

Between Sept 25, 2007 and Oct 3, 2007 PNSB received cheques amounting to RM17,251,092 from an individual – said to be for the purchase of seven units from PNSB at the price PNSB had paid for. No official receipt was issued to acknowledge it.

It has come to the attention of board of directors this year that PNSB prepared and signed four cheques amounting to RM8,000,205.20 to an individual, who is the same person who had earlier handed over cheques to PNSB amounting to RM17,251,032 stated above.

However, three of the four cheques prepared and signed by authorised signatories were later cancelled.

The fourth cheque amounting RM2 million was released and banked into the account of the individual. PNSB then arranged with the bank to stop payment.

"Between the date of the acquisition of the additional seven units making a total of 12 units and the disposal of the seven units leaving five units in PNSB's hand, there was no board of directors meeting or Board of Directors Circular Resolution for the transaction.

"Up to the point of issuance and cancellation of cheques to the individual, no board minutes or circular resolution were made," said the statement.

"It should be noted that the acquisition was made in the name of then PNSB chairman Datuk Sri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo as Saudi requirement that properties within the Mecca area must be in the name of Muslim individuals."

At the board of directors meeting in December 2007, Khir disclosed that the properties were in his name but assured the directors he would not be making any claim over them.

However, there was no mention of the exact number of units held by him.

"The above actions are certainly puzzling. Why did PNSB pay more than RM25 million when the board only approved about RM8 million for five units?

"Why did it then accept about RM17 million – said to be for the sale of the seven units? Why did it then attempt to re-purchase the units it had sold off?"

The statement said Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, the current MBI chairman, intends to find the answers to the above questions and will not hesitate to take strong action should there be any criminality involved.

Its Official; UMNO realised that Perak rampasan kuasa is illegal

Interesting when I read this piece of reporting in Malaysiakini. I shall reproduce it here, with complement from Malaysiakini.

PKR is right all along not to succumb to pressure and stand tall. Good on Datuk Nizar, be honest, be humble, because you are right.

This debacle shows the true colours of Najib, and shows that he is not fit to lead Malaysia. Even simple villagers who used to support BN has now realised who they are. The support base in rural Malaysia is fast eroded and diminishing.

Not that long ago, about a fortnight, I was talking to a Ketua Penerangan UMNO Bahagian who said that Najib is bad for engineering this rampasan kuasa in Perak. It stands out like a sore thumb, that UMNO and BN people are corrupt lot. And they would do anything to grab power.

Malaysians understand that money has been used to buy these ADUNs to change sides. In kampungs, the Malays would not vote for BN anymore.

According to this news, UMNO big wigs are scrambling to London to find QC, that is to find ways and argument to say that their rampasan kuasa is legal and can stand in the court of law.

kata pepatah Melayu,

"Macam menegakkan benang basah"

Perak tussle: Umno seeks QC's opinion

Umno is seeking the opinion of a Queen's Counsel (QC) on the constitutional issues which have bedeviled Barisan Nasional's takeover of the Perak state government from Pakatan Rakyat.

MCPX
A senior constitutional lawyer left Kuala Lumpur yesterday for London to engage the services of a QC on behalf of Umno to advise the party on a host of questions that is roiling debate in the country.

BN seized power in the state earlier this month with the help of four defectors who upset the delicate balance of power.

Following the defections, Perak's sultan ordered Pakatan to quit its leadership of the state assembly, and swore in a new leadership, but ousted mentri besar Mohd Nizar Jamaluddin insists he is still in power.

Mohd Nizar has subsequently gone to court seeking an interpretation of the Perak constitution on whether the menteri besar's post can be vacated when:

(a) The menteri besar had advised the ruler on dissolution of the state legislative assembly;

(b) There was no dissolution of the assembly;

(c) There was no motion of confidence against the menteri besar in the state legislative assembly;

(d) The menteri besar did not resign.

Hearing for the court case kicked off on Wednesday and High Court judicial commissioner Mohamad Arif Md Yusof has set tomorrow for both sides to argue whether he should disqualify himself from the trial.

Mohamad Arif had told the court that he had acted for PAS when he was a lawyer before his appointment as judicial commissioner.

The court will also be considering whether the case should be referred to the Federal Court over question of law on the interpretation of Article 16(6) of the Perak Constitution.

Article 16 (6) states that if "the Mentri Besar ceases to command the confidence of the majority of the members of the Legislative Assembly, then unless at his request His Royal Highness dissolve the legislative assembly he shall tender the resignation of executive council".

In addition to the court case, Perak assembly speaker V Sivakumar's move to suspend new Menteri Besar Zambry Abdul Kadir and all his cabinet members, has caused an uproar, triggering a debate among constitutional lawyers over whether he acted within his powers.

Three high-profile QCs

Sources say the QC that will be engaged by Umno is likely to be someone who has already appeared in the courts here in a span going back almost three decades.

It is believed that a QC who has appeared in cases in Singapore is also on the shortlist.

Three high-profile QCs who have previously appeared in Malaysia and Singapore to argue on complex issues of law have been Michael Beloff, Anthony Lester and Geoffrey Robertson.

Beloff appeared in the Federal Court for proponents of the Merdeka University in 1982. He was unsuccessful in the Merdeka University appeal.

Lester was engaged by the Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) as counsel when the late Mustapha Datu Harun sued Sabah governor Adnan Roberts and Chief Minister Pairin Kitingan for restoration as chief minister in 1985. Mustapha lost the case.

The judgment handed down was then viewed as having established the precedents that a ruler can appoint as chief minister a member of the legislative assembly who in his opinion commands the confidence of a majority in the House, and that once appointed, a chief minister is obliged to quit if he loses a no-confidence motion in the legislature.

Robertson appeared for regional weekly magazine Far Eastern Economic Review in a matter arising from a report the journal carried on arrests in Singapore in 1987 when the government there cracked down on social activists – 'Marxists in clerical collars', was the pithy description of the late S Rajaratnam, then foreign minister of the island republic.

Robertson, who memorably cross-examined then prime minister Lee Kuan Yew in the case, was like Beloff, unable to shift the court in his client's favour.

Umno's engagement of a QC indicates the complexity and gravity of the legal questions involved in the Perak political crisis.

Story from My Mother XI; Kang Saring

Story from My Mother XI; Kang Saring

Kang Saring, aka Haji Sakuri bin Haji Rukimin died some 2 and a half years ago. I wrote this previous eulogy on the day he passed away. We had good childhood together; he was my cousin and friend to play with. We lived in the same village and our houses are not far from each other.

His death affected so many people around him. My uncles and aunties were still talking about him, even after all these time.

I was accompanying my mother to Makcik Nik at Sawah Sempadan back in late January before Chinese New Year. Makcik Nik still lives at the same place at Block O, Sawah Sempadan, the only difference is that her house is now made of concrete and sit on the ground, not wooden house on stilt. She aged a lot, and grows smaller, and skinnier. (People grow smaller?). Uncle Husin, her husband died many years back, now Odin her adopted son still lives with her, and at 46, still unmarried. Makcik Nik served us coffee in a peculiar copper coffeepot, which she said was bought in Mecca.
“That’s the only thing that’s left, ole ole from Mecca..” she said. Obviously it was her prized possession, and brings back her memories of her Hajj.

Then she started to recount her experiences going to Haj with Kang Saring. She kept referring the late Kang Saring as Aruahnya. Makcik Nik appreciated his help when they were performing Hajj and accompanied her wherever she wanted to go.

My mother told me that after Kang Saring died, my uncle, Haji Rukimin changed a lot. He doesn’t talk unnecessarily, wouldn’t utter a word to anyone, even to friends and relatives. When they visit him at his place, he just acknowledge with his eyes and nodded, and that’s it. Yes he will reply your salam but that’s is the limit.
The last morning before my departure I went to the village coffee shop to buy nasi lemak. Uncle Rukimin was there, he just look at me, acknowledge me with his eyes and said quietly to one of his friends, “Ini anak Aruah Hamzah yang kat NZ tu”. I went to him and kissed his hand, and he didn’t say anything.
The first time my mother noticed that Uncle Rukimin doesn’t utter a word to anyone, she thought that Uncle Rukimin was not happy about something, so she asked Auntie Normah, his wife and she got the explanation.

Kang Saring was their beloved first born son. When he was young, Kang Saring has problem with his heart, apparently he had a hole in his heart. But in his teenage years, he appeared healthy. He even worked like a normal villager. Chicken farming, and worked in the rice field among other things that he did. My mother told me that among Uncle Rukimin’s children, he is the most obedient and helped his parent a lot. If Uncle Rukimin asked him to drive to Banting because one of their relative in Banting had a kenduri kahwin, he would drop whatever he is doing, even when he was working in the rice field, and drive his parent to Banting. Kang Saring would take leave from work if that is what was needed. Uncle Rukimin’s other children would make up some excuses if not convenient, but not Kang Saring.
Kang Saring also makes a point of visiting his older relatives often. My mother told me that he used to visit my parent every Friday, after prayer.
My mother said, “kalau dia pancing haruan tu, kalau dapat tiga, satu dia mesti hantar ke sini.”

Eli Wong Nude Photos III; Betul Ke (Bekas?) BF Melayu?

I was reading this hot story, and read the replies in Anwar Ibrahim's blog.

It surprises me to see one of the bloggers replies that the uncouth boyfriend is a Malay?

No it doesnt surprise me that Chinese girls have Malay boyfriend, (see the highlighted bold writing) we are a cosmopolitan society, and attraction is inevitable.
But the behaviour...I am embarassed to say the least.

—KENYATAAN MEDIA UNTUK EDARAN SEGERA—
Bangunan Parlimen, 17 Februari 2009

—PRESS STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE—
Parliament House, 17th February 2009

The last few days must have been trying and stressful for her and her family. We hope the mass media will give her the breathing space she deserves.

I refer to the statement released by our Elizabeth Wong today wherein she has offered her resignation as State Executive Councillor and Bukit Lanjan Assemblywoman.

I can only use the strongest possible terms to condemn the smear tactics used against her. One can only wonder to what depths the people behind this will stoop to achieve their aims.

Elizabeth Wong has spoken at length to Azizah and me. We have discussed the issues and we understand her reasons and the decision she has taken.

Eli Wong Nude Photos II - Resignation and Pilihanraya Kecil, NO ITS The Economy! Stupid!

See what Malaysians does?
The world is in economic turmoil, jobs are lost everywhere, we are still blind and wasted our time and effort on politics, DIRTY POLITICS.

Poor Elizabeth Wong, she has done her best for her state and country, and yet what did we repaid her with? Scandal and embarrassment.

It seems weare going to have another Pilihanraya Kecil, to add the the two we are having at Bukit Selambau and Bukit Gantang.
This to take our mind off the world economy, the the more important issues, that is our livelihood and our jobs. Yes anything to take our minds off the more important issues.
Didnt we read papers the other day that our economy is shrinking? Our import and export are down by double digits.
Even though not written in black ink, it implies that jobs are lost.
Oh yeah, convenient enough that the mainstream media didnt report that.
And the big wigs at the press conference were smiling broadly.

(though I do not know what they were smiling about.)

Oh I forgot, its the trade balance that is soaring... and soon disappearing, when leakages are taken into account. It seems that some people will do anything to take the Malaysians minds off the real issues; ECONOMY, JOBS, ETC.

Elizabeth Wong Nude Photos - A new Era of Dirty Politics

Only in Malaysia.
This is being Malaysians, we have this double standard morality. We expect everyone to toe the line, be morally upright and such. But when sometimes when these immoral acts befalls ourselves or our families, we hushed it up. No one knows and we are in denial, even to the point of denying and making excuse.

We are all human, we make mistake. Only that some mistake are bigger than others.

True, there are two standards of morality, one for the Muslims, and another set for the NonMuslims. The standard of behaviour and morality for Muslim should not be applied to NonMuslim. Period.

As such I am not concerned or consterned with what is happening to Elizabeth Wong MP for Bukit Lanjan
as I was disturbed and consterned with 2 Perak former PKR MPs who joined BN. Even Former Health Minister Chua Soi Lek, I was not worried.
Elizabeth Wong and Chua Soi Lek are normal human being. They are entitled to their own privacy and pursuit of happiness and whatever. Sex among other things, if that make someone happy.

But if the MP professed Islam, and married then we Muslims have the right to question ourselves, what is wrong with us that we choose these kind of people as our leaders.

The real BIG concern and consternation is .. how low has dirty politicking has become?
We have heard alot lately, from former PKR MPs being bribed with prostitutes, PAS MP di fitnah khalwat case and now an MP with nude photos in the net.

All those point to pressure to bring down Pakatan Govts.. and hence dirty politicking.

If I were Elizabeth Wong I would just smile my widest grin... and say "See, didnt I look good?"

LCCT KLIA to Coolangatta then Christchurch

It has been a long couple of days. But the trip was uneventful. I found that LCCT, even KLIA is built at a faraway place location wise. Far from anywhere to the point of inconvenience.
KLIA should be enough to serve all airline travellers, budget airline or not. The airport company shouldnt charge airlines a single sen if they want to attract airlines to land in KLIA. Let the money needed for upkeep and maintenance be derived from airport tax to passengers and Govt (eventually Malaysian public). Then there shouldnt be any need to build another terminal, the so called LCCT.
As for another airport, the so called KLIA-Labu, there is absolutely no need for it. A complete waste of money proposal.

Airport should be built cheap, like LCCT, so the final cost to the travellers will be minimal, not at a whopping RM9billion as was KLIA. Apparently there wasnt enough airlines landing at KLIA, a fact aggravated by its huge original cost, which the Govt and cronies has to recoup.

True that facilities at LCCT is minimal, even the surau is small. Which tells me there is no need to build it in the first place. If landing charges at KLIA is cheap, airlines would flock to KLIA, so there wont be any request to build another terminal at the end of the runway.
I found that Air Asia's service is good enough for basic traveller like me. Check in is fast and I dont mind walking to the plane, even in rain (lucky enough it wasnt raining that evening) if that would save money somewhere along the line.

8 hours later, the next morning the plane landed at Coolangatta Airport. As in LCCT, we had to walk to the terminal. Warning, dont bring any banana product, not even kerepek pisang, it will get confiscated.
Yeah I spent that day mucking around at Coolangatta Airport, and walked to the beautiful beach as well as dropped by at Coolangatta Youth Hostel for a cool shower.

Then another flight to Christchurch on Jetstar. Another budget airline. Service is okay, you will arrive on time, plus minus.

Want to save money on the airfare?
Check out AirAsia website and book well ahead, be flexible with the dates. Say even 9-10 or 12 month ahead, why not if the fare is cheap. Especially if its on offer, like FREE FARE etc. Jetstar has connection to Christchurch from Coolangatta.

No connection flight that day?
I stayed one night at Coolangatta Youth Hostel, FREE breakfast of cereals, toast and jams. the rooms was basic, and not far from the beach.
and you can book online from your country...

Rezeki tu Allah yang beri….

pics of backyard view and inside my friend's house. the house overlooks golf course.
Rezeki tu Allah yang beri….

O this is not a story from my mother; this is a story of my life experience.

Rezeki: a loose term referring to food, wealth, happiness, children, wife/wives, a gift from Allah.

Rezeki Allah yang beri, kita hanya perlu berusaha, dan bersyukur dengan pemberian nikmatnya.

That is the basis of Muslim belief, that our lives, our love match ie to whom we are married, rezeki ie our sustenance and wealth and death are y the grace Allah Almighty. All we need to do is to try our best, and work our best effort, and dont forget, that the things we do must be halal, legal in Islamic sense.

Suhaimi Md Yasir, a friend of many years, once told me that there are three things that Allah may give you in this life; but normally Allah would give you just one or two of the three, and very rarely you would be given all three.
Useful knowledge, the ones that we may use to help others, and impart the knowledge so that other may benefit from it, like religious knowledge and/or worldly knowledge and experience.
Wealth and money.
Children and wife/wives who are good Muslims, solehin and solehah.

When we die, the book of good deeds will be closed; we cannot add more to the list of our good deeds. Except three things;
Useful knowledge that we have taught others, which has been used to make good deeds. Their good deeds will continue to accrue to us.
Wealth and money that has been used to Allah path and still being used for good deeds, like building madrasahs, masjids, religious schools etc.
Children and wife/wives who are good Muslims, who will continue to pray and make good deeds.

Until last Friday, I have ever seen a man blessed with all three gifts from Allah, rich, knowledgeable and blessed with children who are solehin and solehah. Yes Allah is the Most Gracious Most Magnificent.

I have been friends with him since early 80’s, but we parted ways since early 90’s. When he knew that I have been back, he has ringed me to say hello and find ways to meet me, finding time I his busy schedule, Kota bharu, London among other places.
Last Friday, he rang me while I was stuck I traffic jam I Klang. I was driving a friend to an appointment, which was postponed from 3pm, to 6pm, and later to 845pm. So when he suggested that we meet at Shah Alam, at Concorde Hotel, I agreed.
How expensive are food at the ground floor restaurant Concorde Hotel? Well, fruit juice would set you back RM12, chicken rice RM22 and steak at RM38. The after dinner, I made feeble excuse of sussing out his place, “nak tumpang sembahyang”, I havent done my Asr prayer, can I go to his place for Asr prayer? Sure can, we are honoured, he said.

Glory to Allah, what a big house, with a backyard view of golf course. Six beautiful kids, all solehin and solehah. Amin ya Rabbul Alamin. He is a good so, taking care of his mother and father, who are old and invalids. My friend related to me that all rezeki is from Allah, for Allah provides everything. Sometimes you might think that you dont have enough, but with the grace of Allah, by the end of the month, everything balance back.
Where his murah rezeki came from? He is taking care of his mother and father. So Allah rewards him and adds his rezeki many fold.

On parting that night, I mentioned to him that he is one person I have seen been rewarded with all three. “Apa yang tiga tu bang?” he asked. And I explained.
“Tolong doakan bang” he said.
“Sebenarnya datuk nenek kita orang tua kita dulu dulu banyak berdoa untuk kita, semoga murah rezeki, jadi orang yag solih. Jadi kita mestilah juga berdoa untuk anak anak kita” he continued.
